I’m trying to figure out how to get an alpha to repeat uniformly over certain parts of my model so I dont have to keep trying to match each piece of it by hand. I was told to use this method but I’m not sure how to go about doing it: “Unwrap your model then make a tile of your scales in photohop and save it as a map. apply it as a mask in zbrush and use the inflate modifier.” I unwrapped my model, made a tile of the scale texture I’m using, but I can’t figure out the rest, could someone please help me out?
Back in ZBrush, import the tiled version of the model. Select the appropriate SubTool and apply the texture using the Tool>Texture Map menu. From there you can use Tool>Masking>Mask by Intensity.
Another way to do it is to import the texture into the Alpha palette. Select the appropriate SubTool and press Tool>Masking>Mask By Alpha.
