Applying a displacement map inside Zbrush

Hi,

I have an already made map that I want to apply inside. I have tried the method outlined here in zbrush 3.1 here:

But, it doesn’t work; the map simply distorts the model in what looks like random noise.

That was on a friend’s computer; at work I am running zbrush 3.5. The options outlined above don’t appear anymore - could someone please advise how I can apply my map inside zbrush?
