Apply zRemesher locally?

Back when zBrush R6 was released the feature description for zRemesher stated that “You can
perform local retopology to a specific part of your mesh while keeping a natural connection with the support model.”

How do you do that? zRemesher always remeshes the entire model, masking doesn’t work, so does anyone how to do a partial remeshing? Or that statement was just false?

Nevermind, I just found out that you can do it by isolating the geometry you want to retopologize. Cool.

You can also use the paint attract/protect function.
