apply different materials to different subtools

Hi,

another day, another problem. I textured an eyeball with the help of projection master and saved it as tool. Then I opened my model, did some polypainting on it and appended the eye as subtool. For the model I used the green matcap-material, but unfortunately the when I select the eyeball-subtool and select the plastic-shader the whole model turns into plastic. How do I “bake” the polypainted matcap onto my model and the plastic-shader onto my eye-tool???
Hope you understand the problem I have. Thank you!

danke dir, habs hinbekommen. Hast du noch nen tipp, wie man alpha-kanäle exportieren kann?

Does anyone know, how to export alpha channels?

What do you mean with alpha channel? Never heard that word before, sorry. Do you want to know how to export an alpha? Or how to grab an alpha from your document and export it then? Or something completely different?

Hm, no you got me completely wrong. Let me break it down like this. If I export an image of my model for some post-work, like adjusting curves or something else, it would be great to have it separated from the background so the adjustment only affects the model and not the background.

For example, in 3ds-max you´ve got the possibility to export tiffs, tga and other formats with an alpha channel. This way you could easily composite them over your existing footage without having to extract all images separately.

Sorry, I guess I cant help you with that. I know that you can export an alpha as .tif, .psd, .bmp. Also a texture, but Ive never done what youre describing so I have no clue. Here are a few threads which might help. Thats all I can do for you. Hope somebody else can answer your question.
