Apparently Random X-shaped Strokes While Sculpting With Symmetry On

I’m sculpting a bust likeness, and it every so often ZBrush seems to spazz out and draw a crazy line on my model, usually at roughly a 45* angle. Since symmetry is on, it looks like a have a big X on my model. Sometimes it happens two or three times in a row, sometimes it doesn’t happen for half an hour. It’s not irreparable, as I just undo back before it messed up and keep working, but it is really, really annoying. Has anyone had this problem before?

Ben

It’s not just with symmetry on. It happens even with it off. I think it’s a delay with the wacom tablets sending location data. It appears that sometimes when you bring the pen down it sends a full stroke from the top left corner of the screen (0,0 ?) to the current pen position. At least that’s been my experience. It happens once in a while. It could be Wacom or Zbrush issue or a combination, but it looks like a slight delay or position reset.

Hmm, this sounds like a bigger problem than a simple fix. New wacom drivers perhaps? Fewer open programs open with ZBrush so Windows isn’t as bogged down?

I used to experience this behavior with a different program, turns out that deleting all my wacom settings and redoing them fixed it. i’d make a backup beforehand just in case.
