AO coloring and polypaint question...

Hi All,

I generally use z-Brush for creating blendshape data in maya but this is my first go around at polypainting in 3.5r3. I have a few questions.

I have a model with a few subtools in it. I am trying to do a simple AO pass but I am running into these problems.

  1. when I try to mask by occution, it only seems to calculate the active subtool.
  2. I do not have enough memory to merge all my subtools into one, and then break them apart and rebuild subdivs.

is there any way to bake in occlusion across multiple subtools, via projection or something like xNormal?

Also I hand painted some fake occlusion, when I later examined my work, there were poly lines in my paint. What could have caused this?
