Anyway brush or any way to bend meshes to the contours of another mesh?

Im building the carousel in Max but made the horse out of zspheres. I built the harness i have now in Max as well. Ffd modifiers are used in Max kind of like a bend. You have certain control points you can move around but to move these points around it moves parts of the mesh into the horse which isnt what you want. Thats why adding one modifier on top of the other somewhat helps. Youre able to continually select different control points and jerry rig the shape like you want. Its just not gonna be perfect. How do I get the mask to be a perfectly drawn mask? That’s why I didn’t do it before. The mask was a little wavy along the edges since I was drawing the mask at an angle. This harness is a perfect rectangle to a point where it moves to the front of the body. So I need to draw a mask at an angle which I can’t do. Is there way? Maybe an alpha or something.

As far as what I meant earlier for more complicated stuff I can put it another way. Lets say you had an object that need to wrap around the body of another mesh like this horse has. Maybe the accessory is too complicated to draw as a mask. The only option is to model it in Max. Then you’re right back to where I am now. Just bare with me. This is my first real project

no worries
Im tryin to help

Im gonna make a video for you
it’ll be practice for me and hopefully it will explain what I’m talking about
better

Thanks! Ill watch it in the morning and give it a go. Then ill get back to you with my results

That video made me laugh haha. Unfortunately I knew everything you were going over but I appreciate the video. Ill give this method a shot if all else fails

I’m afraid, this isn’t a last resort - this would be the way of choice I would say.

I don’t think there is any way you are going to be able to wrap an already created tool around another tool an any good way.

You have 3 choices.

First - the way this video shows (I think you’ll find that most people doing hard body sculpts are working this way, with the addition of the clip brush to tidy the resulting tools).

Second - go back to max. Exort a decimated version of your horse, and create the tools around it that way, then finish them off in Zbrush

Third - create the tools in ZBRush using either normal re-topology techniques or the topolgy brush.
