Any way to save a mask for future use?

Can a mask be saved and recalled at a later time some how? I am thinking of something like Photoshop’s channels where selections can be saved and recalled.

yes…and no.

if you auto unwrap your mesh (tool.UVmap.PUVs)
then make a mask
then go to tool.texture.new from mask
you have a texture that you can use to mask from inside of tool.masking

problem is
new from mask doesn’t work right now.

you can however fill the masked area with pure white, the rest with pure black and save out a texture based on polypaint and use that to grab your mask from.
