Any trick to smartRsm the polypaint ?

Hey there, i just got me a problem here with polypaint on a symmetrical model. I turned off symmetry at one stage and forgot to turn it on later, so symmetrical parts are with different polypaint.

Now, i fix this like that - export the model to XSi, rearrange the overlapping UV islands then import to ZB, create texture from polypaint, then export texture to high rez., then in XSi i get the UV islands fit on the correct texture part, then export the model in ZB again and hit polypaint from texture and voala.

I write this in case someone needs to know…

i want to ask is it possible to sym the polypaint in ZB ?
I couldnt make it, and didnt find any proof in internet that this is possible.
Tried switching RGB on only, nothing happens…

:+1:

you can mirror polypaint…but it’s a little different than just hitting smart resym.

clone the tool
–tool>clone
mirror the clone
–tool>deformation>mirror (x)
(if you need to delete lower subD levels – tool>geometry>delete lower)
select original mesh
select project brush
turn on RGB, turn off Zadd
brush over the side that needs the mirrored polypaint.

should be good to go.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot beta_channel, that tip really helped me a lot. Was polypainting guidelines for the topology when I did the same thing as pimeto. Thanks once again…

worked flawlessly for me too. Just googled it and found this thread, wanted to say thanks!
