Any tips to get perfect normal map ?

Hello everyone!!

I use Maya and Zbrush now-a-days for my 3d work and just enjoy working.

To get those heavy details from zbrush to maya, we use displacement or normal maps. So I want to ask here for normal map-

How to get perfect normal map from zbrush ?

I know the basic ways of doing it, want to know how to get more accuracy, so that it will look more better in maya.

Are you using 3.1 or 3.12? Which rendering engine are you using for Maya? That sort of info makes a crucial difference when it comes to recommending the right settings and steps in ZBrush.

I am using Zbrush 3.1 and Maya 2008 with mental ray renderer.

ZMapper would be the best to create a normal map. Make sure to load the Maya best render configuration. There may need to be some tweaking in order to get your best results. There is a video on DID YOU KNOW THAT thread that will walk you through the ZMapper.
