Any ideas on how to sculpt a ribbon to make it curl back unto itself?

I’m trying to sculpt a ribbon. See below diagram.

My current approach is to create a cube, flatten the height down to really thin, and make it a long flat thin strip using Deformation sliders, then use the Move brush to move one end of the strip to curl unto the other end of it.

However, this method is really messy and the result is crappy as hell, with too much uneven juts here and there, and even using Polish by Features + Smooth brush etc doesn’t help.

How would you guys do it? Tks!

Create a PM3D cylinder

Use Curve Snap strap brush

After drawing the stroke, I would split unmasked points.

Use deformation palette to adjust shape.

Offset it and mirror and weld X
