Answered: Zproject/Transpose Epic-Fail

I’m fairly new to Zbrush and am having severe problems with the Zproject tool with the use of transpose. Every tutorial says that with Zadd off, RGB on 100%, you simply go to Move (W) and click on your 3D object, then drag to a point in the background you’d like to paint from, then you can simply paint from the background.

Transpose does not work at all! The only way I can get Zproject to work is if I place my 3D object directly over the background. It simply paints from the background, I cannot get it to transpose from a different position in the canvas.

Sorry if there’s a hundred solutions on this forum already, but none seem to detail how to solve this.

Can you post a screenshot of when you try to use transpose?

That feature has no longer been available since version 3.0 or so. You now have to move your model over the background and pick up whats directly behind the model. You can no longer use the transpose tools. You are much better off using Spotlight for polypainting and moving your image around the mesh.
