Answered: Where's the Refract option

I am following a tutorial found in the “Introducing ZBrush” book. Unfortunately it is geared for ZBrush 3 and some settings/options have moved in ZBrush 4. I have kept (the Mac version of) ZBrush 3.12b installed so I can still do the tutorials. But my question is: Where is the Refract option in ZBrush 4 (this gives a nice effect when making a glass ball)? It is under the Draw menu in ZBrush 3. I couldn’t find mention of it in the pdf files that came with ZBrush 4.

BTW: It sure would be nice to have a document that says where the options have moved to in ZBrush 4.

Also, is there an in-app help file? I thought I saw (on this forum or somewhere else-I can’t remember) mention of a help file in the older version. Is there one for the new version?

Is this it? http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Best_Preview_Render#BPR_Transparency

Thank you for showing me where Refract is now (under the Render menu). But at a quick look I can’t seem to figure out how to use it in ZBrush 4. In ZBrush 3, I was able to set it, create a transparent ball, and when I dragged the ball around the underlying drawing would distort. That doesn’t happen within ZBrush 4. – Well, hopefully Pixologic will come out with a ZBrush 4 PDF manual (like they have done in the past) that will explain how to use it in detail.

Have you read the New Features PDF found in the ZBrush 4\Documentation folder?

I see that this thread is already marked as answered as I was composing another question. So I started a new thread (Called Refract question 2) with this question in it. There seems to be no way to delete this single post/question.

Yes, I checked out the ZBrush documentation. Page 118 talks about the Transparency settings, but doesn’t say exactly how to use them. Here is what I did in ZBrush 3: 1) Selected the Jellybean material, 2) Select the Sphere 3D tool, 3) Set the RGB intensity to 5, 4) Transform palette -turned “Quick” off, 5) Drew a ball. 6) Dragged the ball around and the underlying drawing distorted. —How am I supposed to do it in ZBrush 4?
