Good morning. I’m fairly new to zbrush, but i’ve been enjoying it so far. However, since some days i’ve been having trouble with my undo keyboard shortcut. When i select my tool and start working on edit mode, my ctrl+z shortcut stops working for some reason. I can still undo manually with the undo history scroll bar at the top of the screen, but i find this problem truly inconvenient as it breaks my workflow and slows me down a lot when trying to accomplish specific strokes. Any advice on how to sort out this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Are you using a non QWERTY keyboard? Or perhaps are you switching your keyboard language settings to another language?
A problems can occur on Windows when your system isn’t in english with other country languages keyboard (like french ones). If you type on ALT+Shift, it changes the windows keyboard mapping. And as you can guess, doing such key combination is ZBrush is easy to do by mistake.
Then if that happen, it may be possible that the “Z” key is now mapped somewhere else on your keyboard. If that happen, simply, in the corresponding windows control panel, deactivate this shortcut or simply remove the keyboard mapping if you don’t use it.
My default language is English (US), and i have no other languages currently installed. This problem just happens randomly, but i haven’t been able to establish a pattern to try and deduce what causes it. Pressing alt+shift doesn’t work to fix the problem either, and i can’t think of why would ctrl+z be assigned to something different than undo on windows considering pretty much every application has this hotkey. This is extremely frustrating =(. Supposedly i can change windows hotkeys by entering the registry, but i really don’t want to mess with that to have even further errors for tweaking stuff i don’t understand… I never had this problem before, so i don’t understand why it’s popping up now.
