Answered: Smooth Brushes for 4r6?

Hello, I’m pretty new to ZBrush, and I’ve been encountering some problems while sculpting a hand on ZBrush 4R6. I am trying to make the thumb look decent but there is a crease between the thumb and the other four fingers. I looked at a tutorial showing Smooth Brushes in ZSphere mode. There were about 4 Smooth brushes to work with. However, in the newest version of ZBrush, there is only one smooth brush when you press shift. Did Pixologic get rid of the other three brushes or is it hidden somewhere in the brush palette? Please help! Thank you

There are indeed four of them. Don’t hold Shift to select, though. Simply select the desired Smooth brush just as if you were selecting a regular brush. ZBrush will recognize that it’s a Smooth brush and will set it to activate the next time you hold down Shift.

(Selection and Masking brushes work the same way, by the way. First select it, THEN activate the key command to use it.)

You have 9 diferent smooth brushes inside Zbrush just open your LightBox ( “,” key) go to Brush ->Smooth folder.
Same way you can find them in your system folder C:/…Zbrush4R6/ZBrushes/Smooth

Thank you! I have found the smooth brushes

Thank you for answering several of my questions! I understand things much better thanks to you!
