Just like what the title said.
I purchased a windows version of ZB4, and i am wondering if the same CD key can work with the Mac version? Or do i have to buy another copy?
For technical reasons the license is a single-platform license. The key is only good for the platform that you purchased. That’s why the CD only had one installer on it. (By the way, the Trial cannot be permanently activated. You can use it for 30 days but it’s not the same as installing the commercial version.)
There are two options available to you. Hopefully one will serve your needs:
- You can sell your current license and use the profits from that to offset the cost of a new license for the other platform. Pixologic Support will work with you to transfer the license to whomever you wish. To help you sell your license you can make a posting in the Community forum, which we’ll leave up for 5 days.
- Alternatively, you can keep your current license and purchase a discounted copy for the other platform. This will give you licenses for both platforms and you can use ZBrush on either. The discount is 50% off the commercial price, coming to $349.50 under current pricing. Again, Support can assist with providing the discount. Please note that due to the discount neither license can later be sold independently. Also, this discount is only available for personal (as opposed to company-owned) licenses.
