Answered: Polypaint Resolution Not Constant

I am really beginner with zBrush.

I have a jeep model which I imported from Lightwave as OBJ file.
Before I start to polypaint I usually subdivide it so that I can get about 10 million polys.

But I notice that the mesh density in the model is not constant, so I can’t get constant resolution for polypaint. If I try to up the subdiv level even more I get error about memory.

How to do?

Split the model into multiple polygroups so that you can divide parts of it without affecting other parts.

If the model was UV’d before you do this, the UV’s for each SubTool will match the UV’s for the original model. So if/when you eventually create textures you can later merge the textures in Photoshop.

Thanks for your answer.
How to assign polygroups in zBrush? I’d like to do this manually if possible.
