Answered: PolyPaint Complain

Hi there,

So I’ve been playing with poly paint before using Zbursh 3.1 and I was so satisfied with how I work with it. Now it seems that Zbursh 4.0 poly paint changed. What is bothering me is the fact that when I try to smooth homogeneous colors there is no effect but when I try to smooth heterogeneous colors it smooths really quick. I wonder if this is a normal behavior in Zbrush 4?

Wtf is homo and hetero colors ? … i didnt get your problem dude! Rephrase please!

Hey Pimeto, What is it that you couldn’t understand? I was talking about colors of the same hue wouldn’t smooth out while the ones from different hues are okay to smooth out. However, I think that my installed Zbrush copay has some defects. I’m going to reinstall it again and check out.

Actually I still have the same issue even after reinstalling a fresh copy of ZB4!
Does anyone know anything about this. Have anyone experienced any similar issues?

Please anyone check this out. Try to put several color strokes of the same hue and try to smooth them all together. Do they smooth out or just like me having trouble to smooth them out?

EDIT: Deleted my post because aurick had a better answer.

While the Smooth brush is active, make sure to adjust the Rgb Intensity to 100. Altering the focal shift and draw size can also help. There will be limits, however.

If you’re still not getting enough smoothing you can use Project Master to drop the model to the canvas. Then select the Smudge tool with only Rgb turned on. As you jiggle the pointer over the blend areas, the colors will blend together. You can then pick the model up again.

Another approach would simply be to ZAppLink the model to Photoshop and use the blur options found there. Save your work, return to ZBrush and continue on with your project.
