Answered: New Texture From Polypaint Resolution

Is there a way to control the resolution for a texture when clicking on “New Texture From Polypaint”?

I’ve polypainted my model at over 10mil polys and when I get the texture it’s too pixelized for my taste. However, I can’t seem to get a texture size created other than 2048x2048. I’ve tried changing the size in the texture menu prior to creation, but it always comes out 2048.

Is there a way to control the texture resolution?

In ZBrush 4, you set the desired texture size in the Tool > UV Map menu. That value will then be applied to any maps created for that SubTool.

Awesome, that did it, thanks!

You may already know, but the online docs say to create a new texture, set the size and use Col>Txr. Assuming that’s a pre-4.0 method.

Thanks again for the quick response!
