Answered: Layers disabled

I’m using ZB 3.1.

I have a model of an animal, a single tool, no polygroups ect. I needed some extra detail in the head area so I subdivided just that area. This created seperate poly groups I understand, which is fine.

While I was working on it I could select the different layers fine.
But after I saved the tool and later reopened it, the layers are all disabled.
It doesn’t matter what subdiv level I set in Geometry, I can’t get the layers enabled.

I have a previous saved version of the tool before I subdivided the head area. So at least I can go back to that but at a loss of some work.

Am I missing something?
Is there a way to get the layers enabled again?
Or is there some work around like projecting the newest tool onto the old one so I can keep my layers?

Why are you using 3.1? There have been two free upgrades since then.

I’m using 3.1 because my PC is pretty old and doesn’t have SSE2 support.
At any rate, 3.5 and up will not run on my PC.
So until I can afford to upgrade my PC, 3.1 will suffice.

I also can’t upgrade my other software for the same reason. That’s life.

Now, back to my question please.
Thank you.

I ended up doing a ‘Project All’ from the higher res mesh onto the single tool lower res mesh.
It’s pretty close. The slight difference shouldn’t be noticeable in the final render.
And I have my layers back. So I guess that’ll have to do. I can work with this.

But if anyone has a better answer to my original question I’d still be interested.

Thanks.
