Answered: How to render an image from Z Brush

My impulse goes to the snapshot button in Movie menu but then the only option I get is a .mov file to save it or the other zbrush format.

How do I render out an image from ZBrush because I’m tired of print screen.

Oh, by the way i just wanted to say that my previous question about the size of normal map was answered by the cannedmushroom videos on youtube. So thanks to that.

Next, my another question was about GoZ.
When I use Goz to bring a model back to maya, it brings it back at the subdiv level of the base mesh and not the level I had in Zbrush. Is this the way goZ works or can I actually go back and forth between Z and Maya with different subdision levels? Meaning, can I use goZ to send a higher subdivision level of a model to maya?

To render your model use BPR (in the Render palette or on top of the right Shelf). There are settings in the Render palette for multiple passes as well as modifiers to shadows, fibers, etc. Be sure to read the What’s New PDF found in the ZBrush 4\Docs folder for more info on BPR. Once you’ve rendered, use Document>Export to export as PSD or BMP.

As for GoZ, it is only capable of sending the model from ZBrush as level 1. Make whatever changes you want in Maya. When you then use GoZ in Maya to send it back to ZBrush, ZBrush will ask if you’d like to transfer the details from your original model. Say yes. This will update the topology while retaining your sculpting and polypainting.

Thanks!
