Answered: hi guys i have a question about loading tools.

okay, so i saved my meshes as a tool on two seperate files.

cause i have zbrush at home the 4r4 version
and the one at school is i think an older version…
him im new to zbrush… still a student…

so i couldnt work on the same one while at school.

i have two different models, and i want to put them together…

my teacher says to open one and load the other one.

but it doesnt work… it just deletes the other one, and replaces.

is there a way to combine them both

i tried to import it… but that doesnt work either…

i would really hate to have to start over again from one or the other…

thanks for anyone who could help…

Tool >> Load Tool will replace the one currently in edit mode on the canvas but the first one will still be there in the Tool palette. So you can then use Tool >> SubTool >> Append to select the first and add it to the second as a new SubTool.

As for importing, after importing the first select the Polymesh3D Tool. It’s the one that looks like a star. Now import the second one. You’ll now have both in the Tool palette and can append one to the other.

ohh cool thanks! i’ll try that wen i get home later

my assignment is to add muscles to the skeleton…
face.jpg
so i wanted to put this face
body.jpg
on the skull of this body.
they’re both on different files
appending.jpg
the subtool>append works
but only for one item (one muscle)

is there a way to get all of those face muscles to append
and not just the one part of it thats highlighted?

i had to use pics, cause i kinda suck at explaining things… lol

If the facial muscle mass is made of subtools, maybe they’re not visible?
