Answered: Focus on Subtool

Hi guys, quick question, I have a camera setup in the zbrush timeline, with 3 keyframes, two of them we see the whole mesh, and the third keyframe is just for the head of the character, but whenever I set off a turntable I need it rotate around the head subtool, how do I do this in zbrush, because at the moment the camera is focused on the head but the whole mesh rotates and the head goes off camera, relatively simple thing to do but zbrush seems to complicate it!

Thanks

Arvind!

ZBrush will always rotate your model around its pivot point which by default is the geometric center of the model.

You can temporarily change this to wherever you want. If you want it centered in the middle of the head, hide the rest of the model and then press Transform >> S.Pivot. This tells ZBrush to calculate a new pivot point based upon the visible geometry. The model will now rotate around this new point. (In fact, symmetry and deformations will also work relative to it.)

Now go ahead and make make your turntable.

When you don’t need the special pivot point anymore, press Transform >> C.Pivot to clear it and revert back to the default.

Hi aurick, thanks for the reply, but it doesn’t seem to work, if I hide the other subtools and then use s.pivot just on the head subtool it moves position, so when I then unhide the other subtools, they are in a different location when compared to the head??

Thanks
