Answered: Few ZB 4 bugs or problems

Hi there,
I’ve got few questions regarding awesome ZB4, they could be answered earlier, but I didn’t find answers.

  1. ZSub + Rgb and Layers - I’ve came across quite unpleasant thing. I know that, when I have layer, then alt+drag is should erase polypaint, but what should I do when I want to “cut” into model with polypaint, it’s possible without layers, but with them it’s impossible.

  2. remove polypaint from layer - it isn’t working for me, I have sculpt and polypaint in layer and when I have only rgb mode active and I paint with alt pressed over model, it’s not erasing anything, it’s only doing white “halo” around brush.

  3. split layer - it separates polypaint, but sculpting stuff in second layer is gone.

  4. polypaint and hide mesh - I’ve got mesh with 6 subdivs and polypaint, when I hide part of mesh polypaint is messed up. It looks like mosaic, when I make mesh visible polypaint returns to it’s correct look.

So that all for know. On the other hand ZB4 is great release, great new features, speed, stability, thanks for it. :+1:

please, can anybody answer? or it’s better way to send support ticket to pixologic?

1) To ZSub while also adding polypaint, why don’t you just turn on Zsub rather than toggling it using Alt?

  1. I can’t duplicate this. It works fine for me.

  2. Known issue. The sculpting isn’t actually gone, it’s just drastically reduced in intensity. The development team is investigating.

  3. I’ve duplicated this. I’ll let the team know. This is only happening while Record is active. If you turn Record off and partially hide the model the polypaint will display for all layers correctly.

thanks for response aurick, I’ll try to show you my problems.

ad 1) sure thing that I tried ZSub instead of alt, but it’s not working either, here is video

ad 2) when I tried it on a another tool, it’s also working. I think there’s something weird with my tool, but it’s under NDA so I can’t show it :frowning: I’ll hope that’s unique problem.

ad 3) Ok, I’m sorry for posting it again. I hope that you’ll solve it  because it’s really great feature

ad 4) that’s true, but there comes problem because I have to work in record mode  So good luck with solving this.

Thanks again for answer man.
