Answered: Export path configuration

Hi
When exporting files in the *.obj format, the default folder for saving the files is the root folder of ZBrush.
Is it possible to set a folder of your choice?
thnx

One (partial) option is to turn off Preferences >> Misc >> Use ZFolders and then save your UI. When this switch is turned off, ZBrush will always navigate to the most recent folder accessed during that session. So the first time in a session that you import or export something you would need to navigate to the desired folder. After that, ZBrush will automatically go to that folder for the remainder of the session.

Another option is to put shortcuts/aliases in your ZFolders. What will happen then is when you go to import or export something, ZBrush will open the appropriate ZFolder for that item type. You then simply double-click the shortcut for where you want to be and… there you’ll be! This is probably the most efficient option.

The final option would be via ZScripting. You’d create a plugin in which you create your own import/export/save/load buttons for the various palettes. For each one you would define your desired path.

Thank you for the comprehensive answer.
