Answered: ClipBrush Polygroups - ZTool Save

How to take a Hi Res mesh that has been ClipeBrushed, and Retopo it?

After ClipBrushing, You can’t poly paint on 'em because the Mesh is smashed

After the ZTool is saved and at the Highest SD Level, the polygroups are not the same.
to fit the cut shape.

Current Workflow:

  1. Sculpt and ClipBrush
  2. All Low
  3. Save ZTool

Sculpt (clipBrush, etc.)save at the high SD level
So the next step would be to RETOPO the mesh THEN save as a ZTool?
Because when I try to Retopo, there is an error to select a mesh with less than 15,000 polys.

The polygroups change because they’re dependent upon subdivision level 1. This is a dependency that asserts itself when the model is saved.

To avoid this, you would need to delete the lower subdivision levels prior to using the clip brush. (Or prior to saving.)
