Just wonder, if there any way to use 3d layers without polypainting? When I turn on REC button for some layer, “Colorize” button become active too, automaticly. It cause some inconvenience while working with many subtools. For example-when colorize turned off for all subtools, selected subtool is highlighted and you can see it easily. But after creating few layers for it, colorize button becomes active and those subtool with layers becomes highlighted even after you choose another subtool. So you need manually turn off colorize for current subtool before you select another subtool. It’s really slows down workflow. Maybe, it’s just for me. Any solutions? Thanks for any advice.
You could move the Colorize button onto your shelf so that it’s easily seen and turned off again without needing to dig down into the Tool palette. You could also assign a hotkey to Colorize so that you only need a keypress to turn it off again. That wouldn’t slow down your work much at all.
Thanks for answer! I assigned hotkey to it already, just thought there is another solution. It would be nice slightly separate sculpting from polypainting. For example while I work with layers for sculpting-colorize function remains inactive. If I want to texture my model, I just turn it on manually, and polypainting becomes active for all layers. And also it would be good to link colorize button to the rgb function of brushes. Just a some wishes.
