Helu zbc,
Here is a trex sculpt for my final project at school… will paint texture and rig it next… Had a lot of reference for this one… especially David Krentz’s amazing dinosaur anatomy dvd from gnomon…

very nicely done mate
I like material and lights. good taste.
Wow, really nice rex…love the look and fierceness of the beast
really nice trex!!

Wow you have got some great muscle forms in there! However the skin looks to thin to me, frail, like tissue paper (not leather or scales). cool pose!
I agree, with skin texture (scales roughness and thickness etc) this will be amazing. Great job, is a very well executed trex!
I agree, with skin texture added (scales roughness and thickness etc) this will be amazing. Great job, it’s a very well executed trex! But something seems strange to me about the arms / hands, maybe a bit small or the way theyre extending out, dunno, but maybe I’m wrong, I’m sure u studied trex anatomy more than I so yea
Keep it up!

You know this looks fabulous in fact it looks amazing but it seems like alot of people make T-rex’s even my instructor made a t-rex. Is it just really easy to make and I’m not aware of that or just coincidence?
Hey siggef, this T-rex looks excellent.Love the muscles and the overall robust look.I would perhaps make the feet a bit bigger, other than that it looks great.
Keep it up
captkiro: I think that the reason why so many people have decided to create T-rex is just simply the fact that it is one of the nature’s top row AAA designs!!

Thank u all for the c&c! Really appreciated!=)
ja_popov, yes the feet is a bit smaller then the usual sculpts u see here but the feet on the rex, and in fact many of the meeteating dinsaours, didnt have so big feet as u could guess… learnd this from all the studies a made for the sculpt and from the help of Davd Krentz (us palaeontologist, gnomon…) himself=)… u don’t want it to look like a puppy:)
Darukin and other, yes agree that the skin need more detail to make it look more rough… will perhaps sculpt more later but for now i have to continue to texture work and rigging… i also avoided scales/secondary wrinkles in form of alpha projections intentionally cause i think it always have a tendency to look unnatural and manufactured… like when u use bump map to much…
WOW!!! great stuff man! would really like to see this textured!!!
Can already tell this is gonna be a great model.
Nice to see a different trex for a change…not the slender agile one with long legs and a tender body, but a bulky one…only crits are the center of mass which feels like it’s going to fall forward and the small feet, maybe spreading the toes at the supporting leg will help. Nice !
Helu again dudes and dudies… im now almost finished with the rig so i made a little walkcycle to test it out… next step will be fine tuning and texturing in zbrush…
(one q… does the .mov loop when u see it? It’s supposed to do so but I don’t know if the prefs i made really works…)
jup it loops Love the toe spread whe nhe plants his feet, looks good! Maybe some more animation in his little arms? And his belly swings an awfull lot but that’s just me…
Looking forward to the end result, M
Wow that is great work! As an animator I can tell you have a real passion for your craft. Amazing!
That toe spread is outstanding!
Verry nice animation - only one problem:
where i have paintet: There are BONES! It cant swing so much.

Yes it’s the extension of the hip, the pubis or the hammer bone to be more precise. It swing depending on how much the hip rotates when he walks… Opposite of a human the hip on the dinosaur (and birds) tilts towards the resting leg (where the weight is on)… Perhaps on my animation its a little over exaggerated so i will think of that when doing my final animation. Anyways, thanks for the c&c… surely motivating and i will post more progress soon=)
