Another Lasso Question

There have been a number of posts about accessing the lasso selection tool in ZB4, but the answers provided are not working for me. EX:

While holding down CTRL for masking click on the strokes button just below the brush selector and you can select the different selection stroke types, lasso among them. [My installation of ZB 4 shows 6 strokes. Lasso is not one of them.]

You can also just select the mask lasso brush with CTRL held down from the brush selector button. [I get nothing unless I hold both the Ctrl+Shift keys.]

This is what I’m doing:

  • Go to brush palette
  • Select the Select Lasso brush
  • Follow the pop-up box instructions: Press Ctrl+Shift then click (left mouse button)
  • When I press Ctrl+Shift, the Lasso Selection appears in the brush and the stroke sidebar; however, at the cursor, I have not just the Lasso but a Lasso + Square; i.e., I can hide but I can’t select a mask. If I let up on the Shift key, I get a rectangular mask. (Note: The Drag Rectangle is not selected, and I am starting to drag outside the model.)

How do I get just a Lasso for masking? In ZB 3.5, I just pressed a button. That was nice. BTW: I noticed there is a ZB4 lasso hotkey macro for download. Has anyone tried that?

lasso mask is selected by holding ctrl only, and choosing from the brushes (not the alphas)

Marcus made an nifty plugin that toggles lasso mode for both masking and selection like the old zb3 lasso toggle.

in that same thread are some other useful plugins. Hopefully that helps, I find it very useful.

EDIT: just noticed you mentioned that in your last sentence that I skipped over lol, yes, it works great

Thanks, Sean. I felt like an idiot having to ask that question, but I read over all the posts and, for whatever reason, nothing was working. The plugin works great. Kudos to Marcus. Thanks, again.
