***Announcing ZBrush 4 for Windows And MacOSX

An actual date. excellent. Will it be the 10th we actually see it if things go to historical plan?

Looking forward to it.

Cheers

Woop!

DĆ©jĆ  vu… i saw similar news here 1 year ago, and everyone remember, that pixologic did zb3.5 release at the autumn 2009. So I think we should wait a little more then 1-2 months. Hope I’m wrong. Anyway, great news. And very important event for the future of zb. If it zb4 will be not so successful, there is risk to lose positions in production. Autodesk’s production cycle much smaller than Pixologic’s one. Hope, for a bright future for zb.

They have announced an actual date not just a month. Historically this means it will come on that date this time. Its only when they mention just a month as a date that it usually means its unlikely.

Cheers

great news, but so sad that goZ doesn’t support XSI

Really looking forward to 3DConnexion Navigator Support and Paint Layers.
Thats all I really lookforward to actually.

But I love surprises!

great news, but so sad that goZ doesn’t support XSI

Yeah, I am also bummed about that one. Come on, how about a little love for us XSI/Softimage users?

Great news… a long wait, but I am sure its going to worth it…

Ziggy

Great news.

Steve

Now the question of the simultaneous release!!! Either way This is going to be great! Can’t wait to try out zsketch and hard surfaces, and of course whatever will be added to the 4 version!

WHO CAN WAIT??? who?!
plz make that mud-what… really muddy

This is Great news but please no more random innovative features. I would be happy to pay for an update to fix some existing features.

Will there finally be support for:

  • Painting in Layers (similar to PS, Bodypaint or Mari ;)?

  • True texture painting (no more polypainting)?

  • Being able to disable/enable a Mask (not having to use the generate from Mask hack)? and NO I don’t mean hide/unhide…

  • Sculpting layers on any subdivision level?

  • Fixed Displacement map export bugs?

  • .OBJ Multiple Morph support, similar to how Lightwave can store morphs (not just the default one slot Morph store we have now…)

  • Multiple UV’s (not multiple UV’s the way XSI and Maya support them in seperate UV space shells. Proper multi UV layers, same UV’s different size for baking across models etc)

  • A UV Viewer
Either way great news Pixologic, ZBrush is the master of all Applications and paved the way for CG artists to be able to sculpt in 3D.

Good newa, looking forward

Yeh great news.

Two questions.

Will there be more info on features before then?
Will there be LW support added for GoZ at some point?

Well done and thanks.

I cant wait yayayayayaya

I’m not a coder or anything , so this may sound dumb , but would cuda support speed things up even further ? of course it could be deactivated if you can’t get it working as it should …

but enough requests , pixologic always had innovations innovations that I never thought of and that amazed me in the past … like most people in here … can’t wait … but I’m sure it will be amazing …

I’ve definitely got a woody  great job guys!!

Morgs

Good news! Thanks Pix!

For those asking about Lightwave and XSI GoZ plugins, from what I’ve heard the GoZ plugin is developed jointly between Pixologic and the other software developer so it’s up to Newtek and Autodesk as much as Pixologic whether a plugin becomes available.
