Getting the upgrade will be easy, and linked to your Support Account.
If you have already created a Support account, simply log in and check to make sure that you have provided your Cleverbridge reference number and ZBrush 3 serial number.
If you have not created an account yet, do so and be sure to include the information from your license purchase (reference and serial numbers). Your Support account pre-registers you to receive the upgrades when they are released.
All ZBrush owners have noted the above instructions (from the original 4.0 Pixologic notice) and logged in to their support account already, to confirm their personal information is current there… right?
About 8 times, and I’m still paranoid I’ve got it wrong.
Can’t turn away… It might come! It’s the Santa Claus for grown up art/geek types! AAAAARRRGHHHHH!
…where did that news come from?!
:D:D
So are we ever gonna get to see what the new ZB4 features are or are we going to have to wait to get it? Getting the impressions that this is turning out to a be a performance and bug fix release. I seam to remember that there were a bunch of new features that were going to be in 4 when it was gonna be released “about this time last year” What ever happened to those? Seems like some stuff has gotten thrown by the wayside here. Today is Release day they have it up on the website selling it. But other than the shiny new image of the “limited Edition” box there doesn’t seem to be anything new? Which leads to the question? does Pixologic even have a marketing dept? If so how is it that they have a full .0 release without a single new page showing anything off trying to attract new sales? This just Leads me to believe that my initial impression is accurate that 4.0 is prolly more like a 3.6. just performance and bug fixes. They are only calling it 4.0 because they have already committed to giving it away for free. “understandably they cant keep giving things away and stay in business.” I guess now that they have gotten 4.0 they can start working on a new release with new features that they can charge for. But they better start getting some new features in becasue the development of bothe 3Dcoat and Mudbox definatly seams to be moving at a faster pace these days. And in order to fund said development if they do have marketing guys they need to get them off their asses and do something about the website and give people that are not already using Zbrush a reason to buy it instead of 3Dcoat and/or Mudbox.
See this until Pixologic makes GoZ for Softimage

Sweet
sorry, up to now, only for new customers…
you should read more carefully…
shadowbox
goZ
Renderer
…
there will be a lot of new things in release 4
Well, Calmasacow, not be so hard, man!. Remember Zbrush users have received lots of features hasn’t been announced, like Decimation Master, or Paint Stop. Both features are great, and you have it with any additional cost.
I think the worst thing pixologic do is show us things we cant use “now”, like GoZ, or Spotlight, but this two features was announced a year ago. Yes, but, what do you prefer, two features full of bugs in the hand (with a consequent waste of time to control it), or the features fully functionally a year later?.
But what do you do like “Pixologic”?. Like company you need to show our customers they continue on the edge, and we, the users, that haves passion for all Zbrush implies, get emotion, get desperation, and demand the features “right now”, because when we see a video with things working, we can’t -or we wan’t- understand that tool isn’t really polished yet.
Zbrush users only pay one time. Remember it. If you buy Mudbox, get ready the money all the years, independently if you like the new features or woks better or worse. From Zbrush1. They are working and giving to you their work since you brought the software, without requiring nothing at change.
No, no, read it here:

In the “Upgrading to Zbrush 4.0” section:
An option to purchase a backup CD will also be available for those upgrading to ZBrush 4.0.
That’s not for the special edition box.
I just checked my account info on Cleverbridge and it still shows my reference number and serial number from 3.0
So, I looked up a recent email (from Nov. 2009) when I needed to reinstall 3.5r3 and got the info from there. The serial number in the email does not match the serial number at the top of my ZBrush screen. I don’t know what to enter on that page. Anyone have an idea???
I have a similar issue where I have two cleverbridge numbers. One for my original purchase the second for the crossgrade to mac. I just put my original version in. I just HOPE that I don’t get just a link to the windows version as its the mac one I want to start using.
Cheers
