Any chance of vector displacement in zbrush 4. :(…
The releasedate announced has not been missed (yet) so give them a chance before you judge them. Sure Pixo missed in the past but **** happens…
Unforseen things happen in developement that ruins releasedates, many gamedevelopers suffers from this too so it’s nothing unusual.
Anyhow, i’m really looking forward to release 4. I have a strong feeling it will be a killer release well worth waiting for.
I just wish i could meet the team at Siggraph this year.
/ Magnus
I can’t wait to download.
So so far we have clues as to what is going to be in Z4.
they are…
-contact points - (maybe some kind of multiple customs pivots with falloff to create facial blendshapes by rotating geometry around these points? Could also be used for posing and rigging.)
-“new brushes and topology techniques as well as technical aspects for facial animation using an exciting new brush in ZBrush 4” - (could be a slide brush that moves the surface over itself for volume preservation and morph targets?)
lets See Some Videos!!!
XSI is very old bro… But I know what you mean. -peace
I think the problem is the fact that XSI is a fairly new program, only been around for a couples of years, with not many users worldwide and Autodesk is a very small company without much financial resources.
Aahhh thats funny.
I love SOFTIMAGE and Zbrush but It seems this relationship between them it´s imposible. no doubt! If I have to chooose… goodbye Zbrush, see you soon! at least, until next GOZ
Poor little Autodesk…
Watch siggraph this year it may change your mind on lightwave and core.
From hardcore member and XSI user.
Lightwave user here.
Isn’t that what Newtek said last year? And the year before that?
DITTO! Lightwave user (for the time being) in the process of learning MODO
Anyone else got PIXO on their Facebook? Did you see this post from PIXO?
“The official release will be on August 9th, 2010, but there will be an opportunity to pre-purchase a special edition package of ZBrush 4.0 at the Pixologic booth at Siggraph. Hopefully we’ll see you there!” -commented by Pixologic user on the latest PIXO post on their wall.
So…a special pre-purchase at Siggraph? AS in actual box and CDs for install? or what? Hmmm…anyone confirm this?
yes, videos would be great
OOOO thats actually GREAT news! That means its very close to going gold already, because they need time to have the discs made up!
I’m really looking foreward to the new training videos.
GrizzlyJake: As I understand it pre-purchasing at Siggraph will grant you immediate access to the current download version for Mac or PC. When ZBrush 4 is released you can download that like all other users. After that Pixologic will ship the special edition box with ZBrush 4 to you. So no early access.
But great news about the release date. Can’t wait ! Think I will spare myself from watching any videos or reading about the new features. That way I am sure to at least be pleasantly surprised, but more likely completely blown away. Better go see the doctor first and get a check up on the old ticker
I Love softimage and I think I am not alone. I love zbrush too! I´m Crazy or it´s possible?
well it’s not the case to be so drastic, goZ functionalities are already there (and will be there also in v4…instead of:
1 press goz button in ZB
2 modify mesh in xsi
3 press goZ associated button in xsi (just guessing, never seen how it works)
will have to
1 press export button in zb
2 press import obj in xsi
3 modify mesh in xsi
4 press export obj from xsi
5 press import button in zb
the 2 clicks difference (assuming you set up a folder structure easy to navigate) it’s not so big deal to decide to swap to another 3d app (who uses XSI generally is scared by other apps interfaces  ) or another 3d sculpting program
thank you! Danko75. But I don´t Know why for Maya and Max It´s easier.(only two clicks, OK! but It´s the beginning…) I would like to know reasons. I came from Max and when I found Softimage was a new way for me. Thanks
I want to officially thank Lightwave users, that are not bunch of whiners even if there is no GoZ (at this point) for their favorite application.
