Andrew Lucas sketchbook

Hi, ZBrushniks,
I’ve been learning ZBrush for just over two months and am hooked. I had it on my computer for a long time, but was focused on other things. Then I read ZBrush 4 Sculpting for Games, by Manuel Scherer, and Introducing ZBrush 4, by Eric Keller, and have been going great guns ever since.
My style leans toward the whimsical, but I’m also going through the books, Digital Sculpting, Human Anatomy, by Scott Spencer, and Realistic Game Characters, by Ryan Kingslien. Gotta know the rules before you can break them. And I’ve always loved studying artistic anatomy.
So, I look forward to playing with line, form, texture, color and the rest of the artistic elements with ZBrush. But enough windbaggery, here are my first sculpts:

really like teh tank …look like a silly little miniature

I agree the tank look just amazing. Great Job

Here’s my next work in progress – anatomy gone wrong. I’ll need a pose and some props, maybe a cape, boots and gloves. I’ve noticed that there’s a fine balance between detail and realism – the more cartoony you get, the better to leave off detail. Any thoughts on the subject?
