Anatomy Studies - A Start

I decided to start my own thread to get some tips from all you guys and dolls. I’ll start by getting all the sculpting Clichés out of the way. Human anatomy, the ever popular skull etc. I purchased books on Anatomy and two books by Scott Spencer. Thanks, Scott.

This is far from perfect, but a good start. All suggestions welcome.

Nice work MGebhart, I would try to push it a little further, your almost there. :+1:

I did this using Scott’s base mesh and put my own twist on it using a Polish Brush. I tried to get the structure as close to the tutorials as I could.

Will do, alphagsv. Thanks a lot.

Working on a male head. I will create high detail and paint it. Wish me luck.

Quick questions. I noticed a lot of artists build the head in stages. First the skull then the muscle groups and the skin. This seems to be a lot of extra effort, but is it the best way to approach the modeling?

Looks like sculpting the muscles then smoothing back gives me better results. Well, I answered my own question.

I figure I’m about 1/2 way there.
