Anatomy and facial likeness study

First zbrush project.
Rendered in Zbrush using bpr, no post-work. Not textured yet, gonna start texturing soon.

It looks like a buff Kiefer Sutherland whose had his skin flayed. Oh, the humanity!

I’d recognise those ear lobes anywhere! Good job!

Main anatomical comments:

Sternocleidomastoids seem to wrap around his neck, rather than actually being part of his neck.
Rectus femoris’ seem massively overdeveloped compared to his atrophied vastus medialis and lateralis.
Monster tibialis anteriors, must do a lot of toe raises :wink:
Pecs and delts originate from the front face of the clavicles, not from the bottom.
Glutes - check out http://dazmarshall.com/images/modelling/zack_khan_progress_38.jpg, in well developed individuals the gluteus medius is well developed so the glutes have a less round shape, more elongated.

I do really like the model, very inspiring work.

defdaz- thanks alot for the anatomical critique, really appreciate it. This is the first anatomical study ive ever done so i’m still trying to learn alot.

Early texture…still adjusting tones. After the texture is done I’m gonna do hair/eyelashes/body hair.

Wow, that’s fantastic! Excellent likeness of Kiefer Sutherland. Terrific and accurate musculature… but keep in mind, people have fat as well. And skin. Right now, he looks rather like a skinned cat.

EricShawn I know what you mean but for the body I wanted all the muscles to be clearly defined. I tried to go for a middle ground between anatomy and realism but I went more for clarity in the muscles. The face and hand are the only parts with realism in mind over anatomical clarity.

The likeness is great. The anatomy well… But I can not judge something I don’t know well.
The face… great job.

I think the likeness is solid…probably needs continued tweaking. As for the anatomy, you should really try to match Kiefer’s build if you want this to register as him to viewers…just a thought. nice work though!
