An R. Crumb thread...I wasn't going to post this but...

I did this for Digits, who like me is a major R.Crumb fan, and have since been made aware that there are a few of us around…
Soooo…I thought I would start an R. Crumb thread, so these undercover geezers can sharpen their stylus, and join in with their own…

So here’s ‘Onward Through The Fog’ to get things started…

C’mon guys…You know who you are!!!

Ahhha.

Wondered if you’d post this Stonecutter…
I liked it when I saw earlier.

You must have wondered what I was talking about  …I got the wrong end of the stick.

But yup good idea…I’ll get one together.

Hans Has a good one post it Hans…It is not un PC.

Yup! Hans, please post it here. It would fit perfectly!

Robert is inimitable !
Second degre humor
Entierly with Zbrush !
Bravo for your post Stonecutter
:+1:

Pilou :sunglasses:

I don’t think I have anything to offer, but I wanted to say I like those colourful little guys!!

quote:
keep on truckin’… truckin’ on down the line… heyheyhey… i said keep on truckin’… truckin’ my blues away! - r. crumb ca. 1970

 ok, here is my tribute to the master - though i wasnt going to post this, too. you might want to add some :ex: to the header, Michael, warning of political uncorrectness and the likes which is very likely to happen in here

still a wip, probably (dont know if i go back, but i have an idea about making it a comicbook-cover with lettering et al.): i want to make mr. natural cross that street and making him look less alert and to add/improve a few details here and there.

from last week of september until february there is a big crumb-exhibition about 40 miles from here - a must for any afficiando - and i am one since ’71

for those who are too far away, check out the crumbmuseum

Michael, this is great! I wish I had a contribution, I only hope to see more dementedness abound. Thanks so much for the link Juandel. I had forgotten all about the Snoid! and other wonderful treasures to be had

Nice Images Stonecutter—and Juandel–both are fine tributes to Robert Crumb…this is a fun topic --and I hope I can catch up with my day and join in–as it is all I have is an oldie but goody–which most have seen–but here’s to Crumb --Zap and all of us who chuckle at the thought of all his zaniness…

OOOPS Yes Frenchy I forgot to mention that your sketch of Crumb was very good–nice free style to it

Good images Michael and Hansl, like the drawing as well Frenchy P. :+1: :+1: :+1:
Dave

The images so far look great, I can’t wait to see more. I seem to recall that Ed did one not too long ago also (search seems to be down right now). Would be perfect for the thread.

I wasn’t going to make this public either, but what the heck! As a gemcutter this is one of my favorite materials, a Brazillian stone called ‘Sphalerite’, which has what’s called ‘high dispersion’…What this means is that like Diamond, it breaks light into dispersive colors…In order to duplicate the material, I used lighting, and an earlier version of the figure I used in my first posting…So here’s a ‘Sphalerite Trucker’, done for my own amusement…

Hope you like him…My first gemstone ZSphere tool.

EDIT: Thank you Hansl and Frenchy! And I think your image is totally okay Hansl…We’re talking Historical Documentary here!

I just wanted to say that the first image in this thread reminded me of gummi bear candies… Crummi gummies  Now this one really tops it. It really does have a cut gemstone look, and the different colored lights reflected on the facets is a great effect.

Juandel, your image is classically PC, (pretty comical). A beautiful woman streaking on rollerskates! The look on that fire hydrants face would be mine also

Priceless Michael! The bodies of discarded zsphere bodies is very crumblike as well!

Crumb rules, no if and or butts about it

heres a mint issue from back then

97% zbrush, as i made use of photoshop for the carambolage and comics-font ( it should have been komix or at least comix, i guess) and .jpg-ing it, of course. other fonts were done with the tools that come with Muvlo’s Lord of the Letters. all fonts are alphaskinned after mrgbzgrabbing them, then deformed.

thanks for viewing!

What a great thread!

This thread is improving slowly. I might wreck it with a few this next weekend when I’m free from academia.

Hans and michael…what’s going on you guys keep improving images…it’s gonna be hard keeping up.

Ohhh the Juandel update is Fabulous – :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:  And the Gem by Michael is a …gem  --Stonecusser --I think your ‘doodle’ in the Cappucino ( no -H )thread qualifies as a Crumb like image for here! :+1: :+1:   :+1:

Hey Buddies Loook !!! we’re all wearing the same shirt… MAN That’s out there !!!
