An interim Mac suggestion

I hope this wasn’t already suggested - I did check several pages deep into the forums and a couple of keyword searches… but if the the next Mac update to bring things in-sync between the versions is still several months away… would you consider granting some kind of temporary Windows license key to Mac users until the release hits and then expire?

It’s not my preferred method of working, but I can still run 3D software under emulation with quite reasonable results - and it would certainly be better than nothing. I know I got by without them previously, but seeing all the planar/hardsurface tools just out of my reach is killing me on project after project. It seems like everything I do would be better - probably just because I can’t have them

Anyway… thanks for the great software! I don’t mean to be impatient - it’s just really cool stuff.

It’s not!

That’s a really good suggestion, and I agree 100%. I hate Bootcamping, but if the new features are as cool as they look, it would be totally worth it.

However, it seems as if Aurick is alluding to a sooner rather than later release…so that’s fantastic! So exciting!!!

:+1:

Aurick, while it’s nice to know it’s closer than “several months away”, is there any chance we can get a bit more info before everyone takes off for the holidays? Perhaps something that let customers meaningfully plan ahead to allow for transition times?

Well, Aurick, it’s been nearly a month since you wrote that, are you still standing by what you wrote?

What did jwiede say that it got deleted? Was it that bad?
When comments are made like: “It’s not!”
your obviously going to play with people’s expectations.
Either way, I hope all the kinks get ironed out shortly.
GoZ between ZBrush and modo is awesome!
(it could be better, but you just can’t complain, come on, it’s great)
…but yeah looking at R3.5’s zspheres 2 probably has all mac users anxious.
That said, I’d rather have a stable release than something that would produce public outcry. (but please don’t let “It’s not” mean months)
Thanks and look forward to the mac release (very soon).

Huh? I don’t think anything I wrote was deleted. Aurick said “it’s not” in direct response to someone mentioning it was several months away. Now we’re nearing a month out from him saying it, and we still don’t have the update.

Frankly I really don’t give a fuque (pardon my french) about zSpheres II, hard surface tools, and all those other new fangled features.
Pixologic need to fix all the little bugs and quirks that still plague the software.
I truly question the effectiveness of their beta program at times. :frowning:

Yeah, it does seem like they’re short-handed when it comes to Mac beta configurations or something, doesn’t it? Far too many “affects nearly everyone on Mac” bugs seem to get through the process, and they often seem very surprised by them.
