Cool and surreal! Love the background especially!
Hey,
After some comments, ive fooled around a bit and added some mood. Here is an update.
Comments are always welcome.

Added some Texture/Bump mapping. Posed the companion alien in the background a bit better. Added some depth with Photoshop. Changed it to a technological alien with a ‘Computer-like’ glow. Rember how the Cylons used to shimmer?

I like what ya did with the aliens but think the second pic had a better sense of depth.
were they all rendered in maya? does may support layers? as maybe you could light the aliens the same as last pic but keep the depth of second pic without the light overwhelming the scene. Am not sure if I made sense …hope I did.
Anyways I am enjoying your progress…keep playing!

All rendered in Maya Mental Ray except the character test from zSpheres to mesh test (looks B&W).
The depth blur was added in Photoshop. Reposed figure in back, so he doesnt look like hes falling over. Killed some of the material glow so it didn’t saturate the picture. Fixed the ‘reflection’ on the ship to reflect terrain. Added a ray comming through the clouds.
I’m sure I can keep tinkering with it, but I think this is where I say its done.
Some people say its too simple. I don’t know.
What I do know is that Zbrush allowed me to create my vision of this alien creature. Its an awesome tool that goes very deep.
I hoped you enjoyed something different from somone who uses both Maya and Zbrush.
