Amon and friends

Hi,

I’ve just finished my portfolio - www.handmadepixel.com

Almost all object there was done in zbrush 2 and 3dsmax but zbrush3 and subtools give me best opportunity to present hires mesh. I really love zbrush  .

What I was planning to do was to make a realistic hi res model for rendering and a low res model for game. After some time I thought about a test animation with him as a main star. Thanks to my friend Dominik Gruca my model was animated. Model of Glock 19 was made by my brother Michal (saso). He made also a background. Animation was made pretty rush and unfortunately it has many defects but like I’ve said its only a test. Next thing will be much better(I hope). You can watch this animation on my homepage:

Still and animation of Amon was rendered in XSI.
And now it’s time for Amon firends :

Monsta was designed by friend of mine Bartek Gawel. When I saw this concept i knew that I must make him in 3d:

I hope that you like some of my work. You can watch a little more on my homepage.

Have a look to your web page: gorgeus.
Only one question: i’m finding a good workflow betwen Zbrush and XSI or 3DSmax.
It’s seems the displacement (for me) a little bit tricky in XSI.
I’ve the XSI 5 but following the tutorial i’m not able to obtein somethingh decent.
I’ve tried with 3ds max and i’ve seen a little bit more result.
Your pics are rendered in XSI with displacement map applied?
What kind of setting have you used from Zbrush to XSI?
Thx
Bye
Leo

the monster is amazing. great concept and execution! I love his square head.

Really cool stuff! Great job!

I’m very happy that those object’s looks good. Especially for people with so astonishing skills. THX .

marciani: In the beginning I’ve planed to make rendering for a still and a animation in max/mental ray. All displacement was generated by multidisplacement plugin in zb2 with max settings which I found here on zbcentral. But finally I rendered it in XSI with those displacement maps generated for max  . I can’t tell you nothing more over that what I’ve found in XSI help and ZB to XSI manual or that what I’ve also found here. Besides displacement is always a bit tricky and sometimes one setting works and sometimes not. I hope that this what you need is to look for a solution in geometry approximation/ displacement tab. I’ve set it on fine and I’ve make test to find those settings .
Also try normal maps - If you have decent midres and proper lighting you won’t find differences between displacement/nm (unless you make closeups). Besides nm are a lot faster in a rendering.

The last image is friggin awesome! Not that the rest isnt great. Great work!

OMFG that last image was amazing! It’s all great! Well done! :D:+1:
