AMD fx 8120 with zbrush

I recently build my pc with AMD FX 8120 Zambezi+ 16 gig ddr 3+nvidia 560 vga+ corsair 90 gig SSD III with windows 7 ultimate.

I tried loading my old zbrush file and crank up to sub 7 (18960384 polys) , just to check the performences. I am utterly surprised by it’s weird performence. Zbrush didn’t crash but the whole scene is so laggy. I can’t move at all.
I also exported this highest level 7 as obj and load in mudbox 64 bit, works perfectly fine. same sub level again works in 3ds max 2012.

The same file with the subdi 7 works perfectly with my old pc which is Atholon dual core+5 gig ram.

Is the incompatiblity for the zbrush with the 8 core processors or with my graphic card or drivers?

Suggest me something…

Changing your graphics card will have no impact on the performance of zbrush

Zbrush runs more on the CPU than it does on the graphics card. Most 3d programs, like Mudbox, run more on the graphics card.

Graphics card makes no difference. I have heard reports that with AMD processors, some people have better luck turning Data Execution Protection (DEP) off for ZBrush. You might consider trying that to see what happens.

Thank you for the quick comments @ everyone. One of my fren suggested I should update my BIOS and I did.
It’s change everything. Better compatiblity. Now I am happily handling dense mesh about 25-35 million polys like a real-time.
