Always the Black Knight

Hey Folks,
I just recently came to the realization that the only forum I read on a regular basis anywhere is the z brush forum. I have z brush 2 and just havent had time to learn it as well as I would like. I bought it with the intention of making original characters for use in Poser and then over to Bryce and also to give me a firm idea of how the characters in the story projects I am doing actually look. So far I have mainly used it as a morphing tool and to experiment in basic figures. I am the type of person that uses what he is most comfortable to achieve the results I am aiming at. I am a hobbyist at graphics by nature tho I have been accused otherwise. I have decided to post the last 2 images I have done here. All the facial morphing on stock poser characters were done by me in Zbrush and all the procedural textures in the image were either retweaked by me or were original. I did a remap of all the characters used in uv mapper. The only model that wasnt retextured or touched by me in some way was Meski’s Barn in the back of the first image. An incredibly detailed structure that I feel honored to use in this image. the Giant had a zbrushed morph job on him and his head was stuck on the Behemoth figure by Sirius X.
The armor used on the knight was by Valandar and the armor of the queen was mainly by Brycetech with a lot of tweaking by me.

I have spent the last three weeks working on these images to what I consider half decent. Already I have noticed several things (rather minor) that need fixing such as the geometry of the stirrup being stuck in the knights horse side or the gold used on the giant as being to bright. Looks painful lol but I am coming close to a finish on both.

Both of these images are from my Always the Black Knight series and features some of the other characters in it’s evolving storyline. The Black Knight himself isnt represented here at the time but he is modeled on Suleiman the Magnificent, King Richards erstwhile opponent in the crusades. The story is not on earth but on a side road of time and space. And what happens is that all good people of whatever culture and religious and political differences have to come together to combat the evil that threatens to consume their world.
Rather cliched but cliches are cliche for a reason. The storyline keeps evolving as i add images to it.

The first image is called Always the BlackKnight: A Messenger for the Queen
and the second is called Always the Black Knight : Where there is Light there’s Hope.

Programs used were Z brush 2, Poser Pro, Bryce 5 and Photoshop 6.

Sorry for the rather long post just catching up for lost time i guess.

ps… this in response to an earlier thread. I hope those that deride Bryce as rendering tool look at this post very carefully. A Tool is only as good as the Artist is and sometimes the Artist needs Practice. Speaking of which…

Have happy Zbrushing!

Heh, thx Frenchy I will and do enjoy Z brushing. Please Bear in mind that there is also an underlying theme here that would probably take the viewing of some earlier images in Always the Black Knight to perceive. Its the thought that God isnt slave to Christianity or Islam or even some of the ridiculous movies i have seen lately  . There are Good men everywhere… I dont care if they believe in Christ or follow the teaching of the Prophet or worship some misbegotten polywog in the primeval forest
