Alternative PovRay style renderer for the MAC

Hello Folks,

Does anyone have any experience with these versions of this Alternative PovRay type renderer for the MAC with ZB or any other 3D software?

.

I dont know those MAC renderors…

But I do know this one…
http://www.coala.uniovi.es/~jandro/noname/
you can use it with a bunch of modeling packages, like blender and Wings3d
If you like the POVray way of doing things it is basicaly a commandline rendering engine that reads XML so you can do things manualy also if you enjoy this kind of thing.
Yafray also supports HDRI lightprobes, and also, it will do things with plain images useing IBL if you prefer…

it supports Caustics, and internal reflections for perfect glass everytime…

it supports a Global Ilumination in a few ways, with normal sunlight and also with Global Photon lights …
Hemi-lights are also supported…
also supports SMP for multi processor systems. and has a tweak for intels HT enhanced chips.

well anyways the reason I bring this up is that it is free, and it runs on MAC, Win, and *NIX… so you can share with all your friends…

I suggest useing Wings3d , there is a built in plugin for yafray…

it is my prefered rendering engine next to Zbrush… Look at the gallery, there are some impressive images…

Sory I have never heard of the other renderors… I am going to go and check them out…

Thanks Polaris !

I’ll look into it.

I am hoping to use it with Silo3d also.
