alt + click = zoom? (answered)

Has anyone figured out the best settings for the click time and distance? My model seems to constantly jump to a zoomed out position while I’m sculpting …usually when I’m holding alt to sculpt into the model.

It seems like the best option is to turn OFF the “auto Select subtool” in the edit tab within preferences, but then that disables the ability to alt click on other subtools within the canvas. Has anyone figured out a proper setting for click time or distance??? Or is there another way to keep a model from zooming out while your sculpting with alt held in?

my computer specs:
zbrush 4 on Windows Vista
8gigs ram, Dual Quad Core Processor

the zoom only jump, when you hold alt and click one time in “background”, if u Hold Alt, click and hold in background, and release alt, u are able to zoom out/In…

i dont know if this is your question, my english isn’t very good.

Short answer. No.

Long answer. I’ve got my click time and distance turned all the way down and it still happens to me on occasion (read that often), especially if I’m getting ferocious in my brushing. The other thing you can do is double check your tablet settings for ZBrush in your Wacom control panel. Wacom has something called “double click assist” that’s often turned on by default. Basically, if it sees two clicks within a certain distance, it’ll register a double click (similar to Zbrush’s click distance and time settings). So the driver itself might be misinterpreting your clicks, regardless of Zbrush’s settings. Turn this down or off in your control panel and see if it helps. The Intuous and Cintiq lines should allow for you to configure this for Zbrush only, so that you can still have double click assist outside of zbrush, if you like. See if it helps.

Dear Pixologic, please fix this issue of alt click and the mesh suddently getting centered (therefor ruining the workflow). Also, please fix the shift + cursor movement that leads to strange zooming in, that is also very desruptive. This is a wonderful program and minor setbacks such as this one should not get in the way of working with zbrush. Thanks in advance.

PS: I have tried the above methods and they don’t work. Having a prefference for turning off Alt + click tool centering and Shift + mouse movement zoom in would be absolutely crucial. Please consider this, it is very important.
