Hi ppl,
How can I disable this Alt+Click zoom feature, it drives me up the wall, over the fence, into the forest, onto a spaceship and towards other yet unexplored galaxies.
Help?

Oh, and another thing, i keep dropping tools onto the canvas, how do I stop zBrush from doing this?

Disabling Preferences > Edit > Auto Select Subtool will prevent ALT + Click from zooming/framing and selecting subtools.
As for dropping tools to the canvas just stop doing what you are doing that drops the tool to the canvas 
I could imagine you are accidentally pressing Shift + S (instead of shift + d) which will place a snapshot of the current 3d tool on the canvas. Or perhaps you are trying to use the 2D/2.5D brushes to paint on your model ?
In any case CTRL + N will clear the canvas. If your 3D tool is in edit mode it will not be affected, only the canvas is cleared.

Not really sure what I’m doing wrong with the “random tool->canvas drop” thing. This doesn’t happen when I press Shift. Maybe Alt + click drag or something similar, or it has something to do with the way I hold a pen.

yeah. this is a real problem. either of these solutions will have the desired effect. except each leaves you without the ability to select subTools from the viewport / canvas ( though the one i offered does disable the ability to ctrl + click to blur a mask. i’m ok not tempting the crashing i often enough get there by mapping that to a key ). which is essential for a sensible workflow
please. pixologic. separate out these functions in the next release
