alpha wrapping question

I’ve been try to find out how you wrap an alpha around a cylinder ive used the wrapping function, but dont get the results that i want i was wondering what workflow people use to do this

export the alpha as a PSD in photoshop
Open the PSD in photoshop and do a selection around the square
edit / define pattern

Open up a really big document 4096 X 4096 in photoshop (to test it)
Use the fill tool to fill the document with the new pattern
then image sze the document to what res you want (2048x2048) for eample
Import it into Zbrush as an alpha
mask / mask be alpha
