Alpha value for displacement map question_Z4

So I’ve just now gotten around to working in Z4 and I have an odd question. I did a search and haven’t found anything, but if I’m mising something obvious feel free to smack me.

So in previous version of Z, when you created a displacement map, you could get the map to show up in the Alpha pallette, along with a numeric value. That value could then be entered into the displacement options in XSI when you imported the appropriate mesh and texture maps from Zbrush. Now the value was very rarely ever perfect. The displacements almost always needed some tweaking, but it was nearly always a really good staring point.

My issue is that I can’t seem to find that value anywhere in Z4. I’ve tried with multi-mapper, and I’ve even tried creating an Alpha from the displacement map, but without success. Does anyone know how I can get that value? It’s not a huge deal, but it would help make my work easier. Thanks in advance and I apologize if I’ve just missed something really obvious!

See this thread.

Thanks zber2. Unfortunately that slider does not show up at the bottom of my Alpha palette. There’s not even an empty slot for it. The palette actually ends right before that. I can’t even scroll to it which is why I thought maybe it wasn’t in this version of Z, but that screen cap has me thinking that maybe I need to do a wipe/re-install. Thanks again for your help!

EDIT: Forgot to add this -

I notice from that thread that the ADF should be in the name of the map when MME does the export. While I am getting workable maps, they do not have the ADF in the name. Now I’m definately thinking re-install …
