Alpha thickness issue

Hey gang,

I am using a custom alpha that I created in photoshop that is pure black and white. When I use the drag rectangle to place it, the center is thicker than the outer edges. My radial fade is at 0, so it should not be thinning out as it approaches the edge. I am placing the alpha on a flat surface, so it’s not like it’s warping around a curve or anything. I don’t see any additional settings for the drag rectangle brush, so can anyone tell me how to maintain the same thickness for the full alpha.

I have also tried using stencil, but can’t get the pressure to be applied to the full alpha equally.

Thanks guys and gals. I appreciate the help.

You need to edit the Fade-Off Curve in the Brush Menu. Set both points on the curve to V=5. Leave all other values at their default settings. This gives you a perfectly horizontal Fade-Off Curve and will give you an even thickness corner to corner when you drag your alpha on the mesh.

you can also set your focal shift to -100 to achieve the same effect. (well, depending on the brush)

Thanks, that worked perfectly. I appreciate the quick response.
