I have been practicing my model detailing with alphas here of late. It isn’t a new technique for me (I have done it on many models in the past) but after having watched Aaron Sims alpha modeling DVD I was given new inspiration. His work flow helped to emphasize a few things for me so I put my newfound energy into some practice. It’s nice (as an amateur) to get validation on your workflow from watching the “pros”. It helps to bolster confidence. That’s always a good thing!
These are both oder models. The goblin had some detail work already but I found it to be a bit flat so I worked on it some more. The undead guy is something I have been tinkering on for a while now… he is intended to be an Undead Rogue ala World of Warcraft inspiration. I used a number of the alpahs from Aaron’s - Gnomon Alpha Tutorial DVD. I really like those alphas. I have a ton of alphas but I found those to work exceptionally well. I probably over-did it a little on the alpha work but I doubt these two chaps would complain overly much.
