Alpha deformation without Projection Master.

Fantastic tips here.

After playing with everyone’s suggestions here’s the sequence of steps I found works pretty well and it avoids affecting both sides of the object.

  1. While in edit mode mask entire object by ctrl-clicking outside of the object.
  2. Select desired alpha.
  3. Press W to enter Edit-Move mode.
  4. Press ctrl-alt to draw one or more white inverse alpha masks on object starting either within or outside object depending on where placement is desired. You can switch alphas at any time to get different inverse masks.
5.When you have all your masks in place press Q to enter edit draw inflate/deflate mode and paint on your desired depth. You can also smooth using shift key while drawing in Q mode or use the deformation tab items for further modification of the Inverse (i.e. unmasked) areas.
  5. Ctrl-drag small rect outside object to delete masks.

Voila.

I tried healy’s procedure but im still getting the mask on both sides am i missing something in one of the settings?

After re read all above I have found this easy method for place any Alpha at any “precise place” without Texture Master or Projection Master
I propose that

  • Create a layer A
  • Place your object 3D at the wished Size on the canvas : Mark it (Key M)
  • Create a layer B for the Alpha
  • On Enable/Disable Layer A you can see where your future Alpha can be draw
  • Disable Layer A : draw your Alpha with any tool brush
  • Grabb with Mrgbzgrabber tool the entiere Canvas with Autocrop disable
  • Delete layer B
  • Redraw the object 3D on the marker point just clic on (so same place, size, orientation)
  • Mode Edit : redraw the Alpha with Crtl from Left Upside to Right Downside
That all  The Alpha is at the more precise place possible, ready for any deformation
