Alienware: Good, Bad?

My PC has some componants that are no older than a few weeks, and about eight componants that are older than 4 years (Hard drives, disk drives, etc) and I am looking to upgrade. I’m considering alienware because they give you the option to do monthly payments, but I’m not sure if they’re the way to go because I’ve heard they have high interest rates. Are there other companies like them that have a better rep? Or is alienware top of the line? I would upgrade myself, but I’d prefer to pay over time and not all up front as I do not have 1500$ laying around. Thanks!

It sounds like you’re able to upgrade/put together a PC. I would suggest that you go to someplace like newegg and do a price comparison for something similar to what you see from Alienware and decided whether or not you want to pay the premium.

I can’t give good advice, but consider that Alienware is a brand of Dell for a while now. Maybe look at the hardware section at cgtalk for more info…

As far as I know alienware is the only merchant that will let me pay in segments, I don’t have the 1.5k I need to sped up front lol. I was looking at cyberpowerpc.com but I didn’t see anything along the lines of payment plans, can someone help me look and see if they do financing etc? Thanks!

Before you start spending cash realize, you could build better for cheaper or just upgrade yours. I am not sure what is in your box but it could be worth it to just add on or swap parts!

You could aslo buy a good new pc with almost everthing you want, get the parts to make it better and still save cash.

also take a look here http://www.boxxtech.com/ they offer payment plans if you really have to have something cool.

I wanted an Alien once ended up with an emachine. I just started throwing in upgrades. She never failed me!

Alien use to have a activex download that compared your pc vs theirs. The only one that out did mine was the top model at the time. cost $5000. You can get a lot pc and software for that money:D

You can buy a LOT of PC for a lot less than that!
